Dear Parents/Guardians,
A GREAT TERM 2
As we come to the end of Term 2 I realise that a great deal has been achieved at John Therry by both the students and Staff. Quality teaching and learning is taking place and we move to the formal reporting period that will reflect this. The Staff have been very busy marking assignments and classwork in preparation for these.
We have also been through some very sad and draining times where the community has come together and provided support for those who needed it. The floods, fires, covid and flu have all placed strain on families. I was particularly impressed by the care and respect shown by the students to each other in such times. Truly, John Therry is a special community and it is in the tough times that we are tested.
NEW P&F EXECUTIVE
Thank you those parents who were able to attend the P&F meeting last week.
The new P&F Executive for 2022/23 is:-
- President – Mrs Marion Augustine
- Vice President – Mrs Nicola Medrano
- Treasurer – Mrs Melinda Cohr
- Secretary – Mrs Melissa Bertie
The P&F meets on the Tuesday of Week 8 each Term from 6.30 – 7.30pm in the Staff Lunchroom. All are welcome to attend.
HALF YEARLY REPORTS and P/T/S INTERVIEWS
I ask that all parents read the Half Yearly Reports of their children and discuss the contents with them. Whilst schools have changed dramatically since you attended, research is clear that students with parents that take an interest in their child’s learning and progress, perform better.
We also have the opportunity to discuss the reports with the Staff in the first week of Term 3. These discussions should be in two halves. The first describing where your child is presently in their learning journey and the second discussing ways forward to improved results.
Year 7 to 10 Interviews will take place on Thursday 21st July from 3:30-7:30pm in the school Hall. Online booking information will be sent out when reports are released and we hope to see you throughout the evening.
CONGRATULATIONS TO SPORTS TEAMS

We Are Family
‘The spirituality of family love is made up of thousands of small but real gestures.”
Amoris Laetitia, 315
As the official Year of the Family comes to an end on 26 June we are reminded by Pope Francis that in fact, “The family is an adventure, a beautiful adventure!”
For better or for worse, our experience of family has shaped each of us, providing us with a lens upon the world in which we live. At times our lens is crystal clear providing us a solid vision through which our experience of family has allowed us to flourish. At other times this lens is obscured providing a fragmented world view when our experience of family has fallen short. The ‘adventure’ that Pope Francis refers to includes both the highs and the lows and is reflected through the Paschal Mystery - the anticipation, uncertainty, agonising anxiety and depths of utter despair through to the triumphant rising and endless hope.
Many of our most transformative experiences of family shape who we are, often not during the highs and lows but rather through the ‘ordinary’ daily rituals that we live out. The fast-paced nature of family life can cause a level of immunity that prevents us from being present to the sacramentality of the ‘ordinary’.
Family routines create hidden sacramental moments with the perfect example hidden in plain sight - the humble family meal. No matter what the cuisine or time of the day, it’s in the gathering that we experience what it means to be ‘blessed, broken and shared’.
Research tells us that when children enjoy regular meals with their family they do better at school, display less anti-social behaviours, are more successful in their relationships with peers and the list goes on.
In the classic Australian movie, ‘The Castle’ there is a humbling and powerful resonance in the family meal scenes. The gratitude shown by the father, Daryl Kerrigan along with the children towards their mother Sal’s cooking is still referenced today:
Daryl: “Darl, what do you call this?”
Sal: “Sponge cake”
Daryl: “What’s that on top?”
Sal: “Icing sugar”
Daryl: “Boys why would you go out to dinner when this keeps turning up, night after night?”
This iconic Australian film reminds us through this humble family meal scene that gathering around the table is an opportunity to be blessed by one another’s presence, a time to break open conversation through the breaking of bread as well as share with one another how we are feeling, what matters most and sometimes to make peace when family life is complex.
When we stop and take note of all sacramental moments we can understand that it is in the everyday that God is fully revealed. Let us all appreciate and be present as we experience the ‘adventure’ in all sacramental and Eucharistic moments.
How do you show your appreciation to members of your family and be present to experience the adventure?
“If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.”
Mother Teresa
Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE) is an innovative science education program that introduces students to the excitement of scientific discovery and builds bridges between school and the real-life biosciences.
Jo-Anne was one of 12 international Master Fellows who had access to experts from Amgen staff and other STEM-focused organisations around the world, and reflected on their own goals for leadership. After an intensive 1-year program, Fellows shared their expertise and curriculum with the ABE international community.
The curriculum project that Jo-Anne produced was aimed specifically at Stage 6 Investigating Science students. The project included a research activity comparing domestic and international regulations and codes of conduct surrounding scientific research. Students worked in small groups, then reported their research findings back to the rest of the class. Students then evaluated and assessed the regulations and codes of conduct of different areas of scientific research. Year 12 Investigating Science students thoroughly enjoyed this task and the collaborative nature of the learning.
Jo-Anne was in the second cohort of this international fellowship, Dr Aidan Johnson was in the first cohort. Jo-Anne and Aidan have been invited to apply for a $2000 grant each, to develop a curriculum resource which leads science education into the future at John Therry Catholic College.
Jo-Anne and Aidan will also have the opportunity to attend an ABE conference in 2023. The conference is to be held in San Francisco and gives educators an opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from all over the world.
To say that I am proud, is a complete understatement! On Tuesday 14th June, our Year 10 Debaters were victorious in the MISA semi-final against Magdalene Catholic College! The topic was 'That we should abolish the ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) system of university entrance'. We were the affirmative team.
This is no ordinary accomplishment. Over the years our most senior Year 10 debaters have lost more debates than they have won. Despite their relentless efforts, each loss taught them the value of teamwork and the importance of evaluating each debate and applying what they'd learnt. They have demonstrated every aspect of JT PRIDE and thoroughly deserve to be representing JT in the MISA Grand Final on June 28th against Broughton Anglican College.
Be sure to congratulate these outstanding achievers on their excellent refutation skills, cohesive arguments and exceptional teamwork:
First Speaker - Lucy Cathro
Second Speaker - Vivienne Dos Santos
Third Speaker - Isabella Nunes
Fourth Speaker - Sarah Perenara
Our Year 9 team debated against St Benedict's Catholic College in the MISA semi-final; we are immensely proud of their commendable efforts. The topic was 'That sport teams should not accept sponsorship from gambling companies.' We were the negative team. Be sure to congratulate our Year 9 Semi-Finalists on their integrous manner and ethical perseverance:
First Speaker - Salomiya Siby
Second Speaker - Jasmeet Bains
Third Speaker - Riley McIntyre
Fourth Speaker - Jaydan Diamond
SPECIAL OLYMPICS AUSTRALIA YOUTH CARNIVAL
On Wednesday, 8th June 2022, students from within our College stage 4, 5 and 6 specialist settings classes were given the opportunity to attend an exciting day of inclusive sport and physical education at the Special Olympics Australia Youth Carnival. We were joined by other students from within the local Campbelltown school community to participate in a variety of competitive and non-competitive activities. Students gained skills and experiences in basketball, AFL, bocce and other fundamental movement skills.
The day was geared towards celebrating the sporting gifts, skills and friendships (old and new) of all those in attendance. Our students represented the College in exemplary fashion through a positive willingness to participate, respectful conduct and spirit. Highlights of the day include the smiles and laughter witnessed and an epic basketball game between our stage 5 and 6 students.
Charlotte Farmer and Lachlan Vacchini took on leadership roles throughout the day by volunteering to act in a mentoring capacity for our younger stage 4 students. Liam Markiewicz also demonstrated his leadership skills by publicly making an impromptu speech to thank organisers and coaching staff for their work in providing such a wonderful day. College staff including Mrs White, Mr Muvceski and Mrs Sharkey were very proud to be associated with this fine group of young men and women on the day.
The English Faculty offers a range of opportunities to support students achieve to their full potential. In this edition of the newsletter, we will outline both the innovative and tried and true ways we support our students' creative and critical development in the classroom. We offer many exciting opportunities for our students to engage with the English language in its various textual forms. These encompass spoken, written, and visual texts through which meaning is shaped, conveyed, interpreted, and reflected. Complexity increases as students progress through their schooling.
The year in English, began with students engaging in a variety of experiences. However, we did realise that due to the learning loss our studenbts incurred in 2021, we made a very conscious decision to begin the year for all classes 7-10 with an Intensive Literacy Intervention program. for the first five weeks of Term 1. This was followed by the introduction to the other units planned for the Year.
Year 7 begin their English lessons in High School with the introduction to the unit My World, Your World This unit encourages students to explore the ways in which perspective and context shape both fictional and real worlds within themselves and others. Please see the link below to view some of the work done in our classes.

Year 8 had fun with the unit, Life Writing. This unit encourages students to explore the ways that reading influences an individual’s writing process. Students review different forms of writing focusing particularly on diaries, autobiographies and life writing. They learn about their own and the life stories of others, within the context of language, literature and literacy. The purpose is to develop their skills at responding to and composing texts for different purposes, with a view to understanding how their experiences influence their appreciation of the stories of others. The specific focus of this unit is to prepare students for the senior unit of ‘Reading to Write’.

Year 9 began the year with a Reading to Write- Australian Identity program. In this module, students undergo intensive and close reading of a variety of texts that focus on the nuances of the Australian identity. They develop skills that are necessary to understand, analyse and evaluate how texts convey important ideas about culture. They also build their capacity to respond perceptively to a variety of texts through their own writing and in particular, a focus on reflecting on their skills and knowledge as writers. Through the study of these texts, students will develop their own insights into the Australian identity allowing them to deepen their understanding of themselves and the world around them. Students are encouraged to read widely in order to understand the breadth of the Australian identity.

In Term 2 they are working on Close Study of Poetry: Perspectives of War. In this unit, the collection of texts will engender to appreciate different perspectives on the subject of war and conflict. Students will gain a greater awareness of the context of war and its relevant issues: patriotism, nationalism, love, honour, sacrifice, destruction, pity and despair. This unit of work will explore issues of war as they capture the intensity of emotion that war evokes and demonstrate the ways in which language can be used to communicate powerful ideas and shape audience responses. Students will engage with poetic and linguistic features like language, form and structure.

Year 10 focused on the skills of speech writing and public speaking in the unit RIOTS AND REVOLUTIONS. In this unit students explored the ten steps necessary to prepare an effective public speech, evaluate elements of persuasion and appeal to enhance oral presentation, and work on timing, volume and body language to suit the audience. Students listened to and produced a range of spoken texts on a complex theme or issue, they learned to identify and control linguistic structures and features in a range of spoken texts, and evaluate strategies used by other speakers to enhance their oral presentation. The need for effective communicators is vitally important. Whether you are selling a product, advising a customer, or expressing your ideas at a community meeting, your level of success will be greatly enhanced if you have mastered public speaking skills. The intention is to provide a resource that will aid teachers in getting their students started in good public speaking.

Stage 6 - Years 11 & 12 - Through the study of English in Stage 6 students continue to develop their capacity to understand and use the English language for a variety of purposes and in various textual forms. Students engage with and explore a variety of texts that include widely acknowledged quality literature of past and contemporary societies. Through their responding and composing of both critical and creative texts, students develop an understanding of themselves and of diverse human experiences and cultures. The study of English in Stage 6 provides students with opportunities to experiment with ideas and expression, to become innovative, active, independent learners, to collaborate and to reflect on their learning. Our students hit the ground running with the courses that are set for the Year. They had Assessment tasks due in both Terms 1 & 2.

To help combat this issue students developed a food product that incorporated commonly thrown out food scraps. Students created a suitable package that followed all the Australian guidelines for the food product to be sold commercially on supermarket shelves.
YEAR 12
Champagnat Day celebrates the life of Marcellin Champagnat. John Therry is one of three Marist colleges in the Macarthur area. This year we had the privilege of being invited to two Champagnat Day Masses.
During Champagnat week celebrations, several Year 12 leaders attended neighbouring schools St. Gregory’s College and Mount Carmel Catholic College.
Attending St. Gregory’s College on Monday 6th of June was Sport Captain, Jayden Cook, Academic Captain Mariella Sculli, Ryan House Captain Tahlia de Vos and Murray House Captain Jessica Garner. The Mass was a large-scale event with over 1000 in attendance and celebrated by Bishop Brian along with local Parish Priests and Marist Brothers. Tahlia and Jess were impressed by the band at St. Gregory’s College which created an elegant mass. They felt the hymns established an unforgettable experience, bringing the community together as one, as uniting the people through song.
“The overall presentation at the St Gregory's mass was extraordinary. The organisation of the mass was inspiring, as the liturgy was put together well and created a spiritually fulfilling experience. After not having a mass since before covid, it was amazing to see a large community come together on Champagnat day.” - Jessica
“It was outstanding to see such a wide representation of the clergy present at the St Gregory's mass on Monday. The coming together of the community as one during the mass was a fulfilling experience” - Tahlia
“The community at St. Gregory’s was inspiring to see, especially seeing the primary school children actively participate within the mass, being reverent and respectful.” - Mariella
“The significance of the St Gregory’s gathering was very high and eye opening, to see as such a wide range of different Marist communities were brought together - Jayden
Mr. Wayne Marshall accompanied our two College Captains, Elise Farrant and Sio Inosesio, Spiritual Captain Grace Diaz and Social Captain Rainer Smith to Mount Carmel Catholic College on Friday 10th June.
“The spirit of Champagnat as captured through the hospitality of Mount Carmel’s students and staff. Warm and welcoming, reverent and energetic, the spirit of Mount Carmel summarised.” - Sio Inosesio
“Mount Carmel's environment and spiritual landscape was not only welcoming but captivating. The mass was an honour to be a part of and was a highlight of my highschool Marist journey. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet Br Bill Sullivan, Br Robert Aiken, and Br Robert O'connor, all in all was an amazing morning, and a blessing to be a part of. ” - Elise Farrant
“The environment that Mount Carmel created through their Champagnat day Mass was welcoming and highly significant for my spiritual journey. I felt a part of their Marist community and felt blessed to take part in the Mass.” - Grace Diaz
“Mount Carmel’s Champagnat Day Mass was a fantastic representation of Marist Charism within the school. The connection present within the community was amazing to both witness and be a part of.” - Rainer Smith
”It was so lovely to return to Mount Carmel as part of the Champagnat Day celebrations. Although only half the College gathered it was still a joyous occasion in recognition of our Marist beginnings. It's wonderful to see Br’s Bill, Rob and Robert again.” - Wayne Marshall, Principal.
It is always a wonderful opportunity to connect with our neighbouring schools and we appreciate their invitation to join them for these wonderful occasions. It is clear we have a great Marist community within the Macarthur region.
Dermot Holmes
Year 12 Pastoral Coordinator
YEAR 7
To celebrate Champagnat Day, Year 7 students participated in completing a Three Violets activity to further understand the connection that John Therry has with the Marist tradition. The Three Violets of Marist represent the humility, simplicity and modesty of Marist values.
Love of work - Pri Maharaj
“I chose love of work because to me this represents how I dedicate myself to my work and how I take part and invest time in different types of learning skills at John Therry. Love of work to me as a JT student is shown and expressed around the school through the great works from those involved in “Curtain Call” as well as the celebration of awards at assemblies. These celebrations of achievements further motivates me to continue to work hard and strive to be my best and not to lose focus. Love of work to me means to have pride and motivation in the things you love to do, to give it your best and not just for the sake of it but for yourself.”
SUPER SMASH BROS ULTIMATE DOUBLES TOURNAMENT
These past few weeks we have been having fun in the library with the College's new 'Super Smash Bros Ultimate' Doubles Tournament. We have just progressed through to the second round of the winners bracket in the tournament and we have seen some amazing gameplay as well as a special guest surprise from Mr Marshall coming down to the library from time to time to spectate the matches. As the organisers, we hope that we continue to see more amazing matches and continuous sportsmanship from the participants. If your child is in our tournament, please give them as much support and encouragement as possible.
We would like to thank everyone for participating and we wish the best of luck for the teams. We also want to thank Mr Miszczyszyn, Library staff and the IT department for making these tournaments possible. Without the help of these amazing people, these tournaments would not have been able to run.

JTCC SPORT UPDATE - Week 9
A big thank you to all our students for participating in the JTCC Athletics Carnival. It was a fantastic day, and a great ‘last one ever’ for our Year 12 students. Also a huge thank you to all the staff that ensure the day runs smoothly, the students and I are very grateful for your time and effort.
Our MISA teams had a stellar final campaign, with FIVE of our teams winning their Grand Finals and claiming their representative MISA Championship. We had two teams that lost close grand finals, ending up in second place overall. All in all, JTCC teams were fantastic and we are very proud of our teams.
After 2 Terms, JTCC sits in 2nd place in the MISA Champion School tally with 319 points, not far behind MCCC on 350 points. I’m sure we will close the gap in term 3 and 4.
Trials for Term 3 competitions will begin on Tuesday of Week 10.
A few general reminders:
- Students who missed out on MISA or DIO teams , there are many future opportunities to represent JTCC, keep an eye out on the Compass Newsfeed.
- Any students that would like to request to change groups for 9/10 REC - you need to see Mrs. Roberts at her desk. You must do this prior to Tuesday lunch time.
- A reminder that consent for all sporting events must be given via the Parent Portal on Compass. Please ring the school if you have issues logging in or accessing Events.

10-12 BOYS LEAGUE D1 |
Grand final vs. WAC 38 - 12 WIN |
What a game! This was by far the best game I have seen the boys play since I’ve been coaching them. Every single player stepped up and gave it their all to take the victory 38-12 against WAC. Our outside backs really worked in attack and defence, allowing our forwards to get their well earned break after some hard runs in the middle. Congratulations on winning the competition boys, it was well deserved. It has been great coaching you all this year, bring on 2023. MVP: Levi McGuinness |

We won the toss and elected to bowl. We started strong picking up frequent wickets. 4 catches were taken with Zarli taking two along with 6 runouts, and Grace taking 3. We started the batting strong with the first pair scoring 3! Replay Rd 4 Vs. MAG 4-8 LOSS |
A very good effort against Magdalene playing two men short. We competed well in the first innings and had some great moments throughout the game. Unfortunately the score blew out and was not a reflection of the effort the boys put in. MVP: Brendan Thomas |

11-12 GIRLS NETBALL |
Minor final vs. MAG 14-28 LOSS |
The confidence of the girls got them off to a good start, attacking and shooting well only to be down by four after the second quarter. However, in the third quarter our opponents were consistently strong in their attacking game moving swiftly over the court and being successful with their shots. The JT girls used the last quarter to enjoy themselves playing in different positions than they regularly do. A solid performance to finish 4th overall. MVP: Sokowa Parker |

Grand final vs. THAC 1-2 LOSS |
75% possession Leading the game 1-0 until the last 5 minutes Equaliser from a simple defensive error. Corner in the last minute, another defensive error. 2-1. 30 seconds is just not enough time to recover. THCC goalkeeper man of the match, saved about 6 pearlers and kept them in it. We should have punished them early but today just wasn’t to be our day. Solid effort by the boys. Couldn’t have done much more. MVP - Adam Redzic |

Div 2 Grand Final v.s. OPAC 21 - 6 WIN |
The Year 7-9 Girls earned a grand final spot by being undefeated all season. The only thing stopping them from holding the trophy was Oran Park Anglican College. The first half was led by a strong scoring streak by Bella Marshall and Georgina Akol. This was backed up by strong defensive rebounds to keep the ball in our possession by Annelise Hall. The score at half time finished 11-2, JTCC in the lead. The second half mirrored the first with another scoring streak from Bella that furthered our dominant lead. A huge combined defensive effort from the team kept the opposing team to only 4 points in the half and cement our win. The final score being 21-6 with JTCC as champions !! An undefeated season to make Mr. Jeffreys proud. MVP - Isabella Marshall |

7-9 BOYS HOCKEY |
Div 2 Grand Final vs. OPAC 0-1 LOSS |
Grand final between John Therry and Oran Park was a close affair going down to the wire. The boys started well with a spell of possession in their half. Unfortunately after a strong start we struggled to get the ball forward. After absorbing 10 minutes of pressure Oran Park managed to squeeze a shot in and scored. The boys tried to get back into the game but unfortunately ran out of time. A good season by a bunch of inexperienced players who were playing for the first time. They should be proud of their efforts. MVP: Nick Augustine |

7-9 MIXED FRISBEE |
Minor final vs. MCCC 16 - 9 WIN |
Good win today to finish third overall. More movement and some excellent catching saw us play our best game of the season. Well done to all players for the improvement shown and progress made. If not for a couple of frustrating games due to wind and changes to the draw, along with the wet weather and we would have finished even higher. MVP: William Chanhdara |
MISA DANCE FESTIVAL
The M.I.S.A Dance Festival was held for the first time in 2013 and has provided a valuable opportunity for outstanding students to develop and display their skills in Dance. John Therry has once again been a part of this exciting event.
John Therry Catholic College presented a dance piece titled “That’s Life”. Using a compilation of dance styles ranging from Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Spanish dancing, this routine depicts life’s ups and downs, from the everyday, the adversity, the fight and the celebration.
The John Therry MISA Dance group, ranging from students in year 7-10 have worked together to choreograph this performance. A special thank you to Hayley D’Cunha of Year 11 and the Year 10 MISA Dance students for her leadership and expertise throughout the term.
The John Therry MISA Dance Team did exceptionally well. The team represented our college with pride and were true to the spirit of the MISA Dance Festival, supporting and encouraging every school performance. I was very proud of them. We have so many talented students in this Team, it was great to see them shine.
Year 11 students, Tiana Giampaolo and Hayley D'cunha showed great leadership today, assisting with the team's preparation and working as stage managers. Both girls are such leaders and role models to all. The encouragement and enthusiasm they had for our dancers throughout this term, especially today, helped them achieve their best.
Today was the final part of MISA Dance for Term 2. The students have had a very busy Term choreography, rehearsing and performing. We were fortunate enough to perform our MISA Dance piece at the John Therry Creative Arts Night. The participation in this event was not only enjoyable but assisted the students in preparing for the Dance Festival.
Congratulations to all MISA Dancers. It has been a privilege working with you all.

Opens Volleyball Invitational
BOYS
Several changes brought about by the current teacher shortage affected the format of this day. Normally a celebration of all things volleyball, with every Diocesan school sending a team, we instead had a non-sanctioned rebel tournament involving only three schools.
Despite this modification the quality of volleyball on display was the highest seen in over 20 years of taking John Therry teams to represent the College. With several students now gaining experience outside of school the understanding of the game, knowledge of alternate strategies and hence, shot selection and execution were of a very high caliber.
We unfortunately played the hardest opposition in the first game. Edmund Rice were well practiced and their experience from winning the NSW Catholic Schools title meant we were up against stiff opposition from the start. The boys did well to stay in contention through most of the game and with better execution of a few fundamental skills we may have been able to reverse the result. Something we tried unsuccessfully to do in a friendly game at the end of the day, again narrowly being defeated.
With all students from years 10 and 11 we are in good stead for Term 4 MISA and for next year’s competition. Well done to all players on an enjoyable and highly competitive day.

GIRLS
A fabulous day was spent at the Diocesian Volleyball Championships with the girls. At the last minute the event was reinstated to the calendar however with very few schools able to formulate a team for the event, a non-sanctioned tournament took place involving only four schools. With the changed format the girls were able to play both their own games and also be a part of a mixed team involving the males from our school.
The first game was against St.Mary’s College, a team regularly in the final at this tournament. The girls had practiced very little together before the day but were surprisingly cohesive with their play from the beginning. Their communication, serving and returning skills were of the highest caliber seen at this tournament for years. Instead of playing 3 sets, each game was continuous. The overall score against St. Mary’s was 59 - 39, a convincing win from start to finish. This instilled a huge amount of confidence in the girls as St. Mary’s had scored a win against Corpus Christi earlier in the day.
This confidence was a little optimistic in the early stages of our game against Corpus Christi. The girls were lucky to stay in contention early with some offhand shots. With better skills execution, communication and risk taking spikes and serves the girls came away with another win 65 - 39. This result sealed the overall win for the girls. They were ecstatic. Certainly a well deserved win.
The two mixed games the John Therry students played were full of highly executed game plays, excitement and enthusiasm with the team coming away with one win and one narrow defeat.
As most students were from years 9, 10 and 11 we are in good stead for next year’s competition when all Diocesan schools attend. Well done to all players on an enjoyable and highly competitive day.

Diocesan Cross Country Carnival
On Monday the 23rd of May John Therry sent their best runners to Narellan Sports Hub for the Diocesan Cross Country Carnival. After a date postponement and late venue change, it was great to actually go ahead with the event.
Going into the day with optimism and high spirits our small team tried their best showcasing some of our elite athletes at John Therry. Some new strong runners joined the JT cross country team showing some real pace with Noah, Davonne and Blake all finishing in the top 6 and progressing to the next level. Along with these three outstanding efforts we also had Darcy Wilson and Dominic Baker finish in the top 6 of their events both progressing to the next level. Unfortunately our ladies were outpaced for the most part of the carnival up against some quick runners from other schools. Some determined efforts from Bridget and Khloe saw them narrowly miss selection for the CCC cross country.
A tremendous effort by the team from each and every student proudly representing John Therry. Good luck to those who will compete next month at Eastern Creek.
