TAS NEWS
Term 2 has been a very exciting term for the TAS students.This term the students have been able to finish their major projects that they have been working on for two terms. Below is a snapshot of some of the wonderful projects that the students have completed.
Technology Mandatory - Students have been engaging in their major projects. For the textiles class they have been learning how to hand sew and sew using the sewing machine. The students also learnt how to dye fabric using the ancient technique of Tie-dye. Students successfully constructed a pet bandana and a design portfolio to document the design process.
In The Food and Agriculture class, the students have been learning about traditional bush tucker foods. Mrs Nau along with Mrs Hadley lead a lesson in the Sorry Garden. The students were Welcomed to Country and cooked Damper over a fire.
Food Technology - This term , year 12 Food Technology have been learning about Food Product Development. The students learnt about the impacts of food waste on the environment. To help combat this issue students developed a food product that incorporated commonly thrown out food scraps. Students created a suitable package that followed all the Australian guidelines for the food product to be sold commercially on supermarket shelves.
