STUDENT MERITS UPDATE
As part of our transition to the Compass student management system, our merit award system and the way merits and certificates are awarded has been reviewed and modified.
From the beginning of Semester 2, the following will occur:
- All positive Compass entries hold an equivalent weighting and contribute towards higher level awards.
- All positive Compass entries are visible on the Compass portal to both students and parents.
- Twenty five (25) positive entries, accumulated over an unlimited time period equate to a Bronze Award (Year Coordinator’s Certificate).
- A further twenty five (25) positive entries will see a student gain a Silver Award (Assistant Principal’s Certificate) and similarly following another twenty five (25) positive entries a student qualifies for a Gold Award (Principal’s Award).
- When a student accrues the appropriate number of positive entries, the student and parents will receive a notification of such. Certificates will then be issued at the next available year group assembly or whole school assembly as appropriate.
- A final twenty five (25) positive entries would mean a student has received 100 positive entries and thus qualifies for a Principal’s Gold medallion. These medallions would be presented at the College’s end of year major awards ceremony.
- Once a student has achieved a Gold medallion, future positive entries again begin accruing towards a bronze, silver and gold award again.
Please note that all positive entries and awards achieved prior to the end of this term will be consolidated and will contribute towards future awards. Should you have any questions regarding this process, please feel free to contact your Year Coordinator.
