10-12 BOYS LEAGUE D1 |
Mr. Fifita |
18-16 JTCC Win |
Round 6 vs. ASCC The boys played well considering there were no substitutes as two boys were facing injuries in the beginning of the game (Mitchell Harris and Kimi Matriano). Amazing defense and played a well rounded game. MVP - Wayne Gibbons |
10-12 GIRLS IND Cricket |
Mr. Geribo |
66-42 JTCC Win |
Semi-final 1st JT v 4th SBCC The girls took the field extremely nervous, not only was it a semi-final game, but they were down two players. The girls played strongly and ended up with another solid win, progressing through to Finals next week. MVP: Montana Taff |
10-12 BOYS SOFTBALL |
Mr. Chapman |
3-6 MAG Win |
Semi-final 2nd JT v 3rd MAG Another tough loss for JT as we lead the majority of the game before letting it slip in the last innings. Some good pitching by Tom and three great catches by Kayd. MVP Kayd Sumners |
11-12 GIRLS NETBALL |
Ms. Adams |
19-39 SBCC Win |
Replay Round 1 JT v SBCC The girls were missing some key players this week only having 5 original team members. Molly Kerr, a last minute call up bringing the team to 6 players, played with excellent sportsmanship. Nikita Maika-Teal and Sarah white teamed up as the first half shooting team with Ella Drayton feeding from the front at Centre. Needing some more height and fire in the defence circle, Sarah White moved into GD in the second half. Sarah’s defensive prowess meant ball was consistently turned over. Unfortunately errors over the court meant these turn overs weren’t converted by JT and SBCC were too strong across the court winning 39-19. MVP: Sarah White |
11-12 BOYS SOCCER |
Mr. Williamson |
4 - 1 JTCC Win |
Replay Round 1 JT v SBCC Not an impressive performance but a strong win all the same. Four different goal scores and there could have easily been many more. Special mention to goalkeeper Adam Redzic who dribbled the length of the field but couldn’t hit the target. MVP: Blake Steele |
10-12 GIRLS SOCCER |
Mr. Holmes |
5-6 SBCC Win |
Replay Round 1 JT v SBCC A fiery game today with both teams displaying tremendous heart in battle on the field. Jess, Izzy, Shontay and Tameka had a great game winning many tackles. New footballer Kylie had an excellent game showing great improvement, almost scoring on several occasions. Charlie thrived in a new attacking position, I think she has found her regular spot in the team! Jorja and Jarnika played well both defending and attacking on the wing. Caitlin kept the midfield calm, playing great passes and cleaning up any loose balls. We had no substitutes today and played without a regular goalkeeper. Emilie played in the first half and Tameka played the second half. Being down four nil at half time was tough. The girls played an awesome second half playing the ball around better and making some big tackles when defending. Mariella moved into CB and really controlled the game through great communication and leadership. Emilie McCue came out of goals and moved into her natural position as the centre forward, absolutely tearing apart the defence, scoring 4 goals and setting up the 5th, Jorja with a composed finish. Unfortunately that wasn't enough when the game finished 6-5 St. Benny’s way. I was extremely proud of the girls today, they showed great heart against a team consisting of a few players who need to learn about sportsmanship. This was a true example of the JT spirit in our sport. MVP Emilie McCue |
7-9 BOYS BASKETBALL |
Mr.Peters |
85 - 28 JTCC Win |
Semi-final 1 st JT v 4 th SBCC Outstanding shooting accuracy today. Another fine defensive structure laid the foundation for a fast tempo running game. All players scored again. MVP: Keon Zaglas |
7-9 GIRLS BASKETBALL |
Mr. Jefferys |
18 - 13 JTCC Win |
Semi-final 5th JT v 6th MAG It was a fantastic effort by the girls this week. We struggled to rebound but we were only up 2 at the half. With some fantastic offence and rebounding in the second half we managed to win 18-13. A great way to finish the season on a good win. Mvp: Alexis Paulo |
7-9 BOYS HOCKEY |
Mr. Webb |
1 - 0 JTCC Win |
Replay Round 1 JT v SBCC The fairytale continues for the John Therry Catholic College team with another victory. Playing a strong St Benedicts with multiple hockey players the boys stepped up and played for each other. Brady Wilson made countless saves off the line in his maiden goalkeeping experience in hockey. With his saves it kept our team in the hunt. A good break away goal from Trae Smith from good lead up play sealed the deal with another upset victory. Well done to the team. MVP - Brady Wilson |
7-9 MIXED FRISBEE |
Mrs. Stanley |
26-0 JTCC Win |
Replay Round 1 JT v SBCC We are definitely improving each week with another strong performance, this week against St Benedict’s. Today our teamwork was incredible and was how we were able to outplay our opposition. The team’s accuracy with passing has given them confidence to try longer passes which has been successful in increasing our speed moving the frisbee up the field. We are starting to understand each other’s strengths and we are more trusting of each player. Well done to Lachlan P for some fantastic passing and knock downs today. MVP - Ayla Cook - amazing catching and work off the frisbee with positioning and Coby Hilton - having the confidence to pass those long passes. |
A big congratulations to Coby Hilton (Yr 9), who was successfully selected in the U15 NSW All Schools AFL Merit Team after representing NSWCCC in Albury. Coby was one of only a handful from the NSWCCC team to be selected, which is a credit to his skill and ability despite playing some really tough opposition.
JUDO
Charlie Zammit (Yr 9) competed in the Hunter Valley Winter Championships in Judo on Sunday. He fought up a division for his weight as well as fighting up into the junior men's division (under 20 years) and won all his fights to take home a gold medal. Congratulations Charlie.
SWIMMING
Ethan Ross (Yr 11) competed last week at the NSW All Schools Swimming Championships in the NSWCCC team. Ethan ended up finishing with a 4th place finish in the 100m backstroke. Congratulations Ethan.
