PRINCIPAL UPDATE

The John Therry Athletics Carnival was held on Friday 30th April which is one of our great community building events. The smoke haze cleared quickly to make for a beautiful autumn day and students were in great spirits. A full report will be in next week's newsletter but a big thank-you to Mrs Leach and Mr Bodeker as organisers, and all the students who attended. A special mention to our Year 12 students who dressed up and set a wonderful tone and atmosphere for the day.

Uniform - Girls Pants

The College Executive have been approached by a number of students and parents regarding the option for girls to wear pants as part of the school uniform. This has become a mandatory option in Department of Education schools, and many Catholic and Independent schools have provided this option also. We are supportive as a college of exploring this and will consult with our students, parents and teachers shortly. The P & F Meeting in Week 8 will have this item for discussion and all are welcome to attend. A committee will be established to explore options and design after intial consultation and this committee will include parents, students and staff.

Tell Them from Me Survey

John Therry conducts satisfaction surveys of parents, students and staff each year through the 'tell them from me platform'. Staff and students have completed the surveys this week, and parents will receive an email shortly that provides the opportunity to provide feedback to the school. This information is highly valued and informs school strategic planning. We would greatly appreciate you taking the time to complete this if you can.

Year 11 & 12 Parent Teacher Interviews - Monday 17th May
