WORLD WAR I INCURSION
On Tuesday 16th March, Year 9 History, Year 10 Elective History and Year 11 Modern History attended an incursion run by Shane from World War Living History. Students were able to interact with artefacts and replicas while being told the history of World War I through these objects and the personal stories of Australia soldiers. Through the sharing of these stories, students were able to better understand the serious challenges faced by soldiers during World War I, the equipment they had as well as what life was like in the trenches. Shane was an engaging presenter with so much knowledge to share with all students, with many staying back after each session to look closer at the display and ask more questions. With Year 9 starting their new topic of Australians at War this week, both staff and students enjoyed this fantastic hands on experience and introduction to the unit!
