CAREERS/TaPS
Y12 Western Sydney University Fast Forward Video Conference.
On Friday 26th February, Thirteen Yr12 students spent the morning online with WSU in order to discuss areas of interest to them. After the initial welcome to all, they were able to join 3 sessions, which they had chosen from a list of options, to gain information on the areas of interest to them. The students were able to ask questions of the presenters and be involved in discussions. These students have been involved in this program since Yr9 and hopefully have a better understanding of what University has to offer.
The TaPP program has started to roll out.
Year 9 and 10 have had their first sessions which used the Profile from “The Careers Department” which gave an indication of possible areas of Industry and Work, to show links between Education and the progression into Work via various paths.
Year 8 and 7 will commence their sessions over the next few weeks. These will examine what Skills and Personal qualities students have and then introduce the Language of Work and what that means for their future.
Students are asked to complete worksheets associated with each session and upload them to the careers program. Parents can work with their child at home on the online program.
