10-12 Boys Basketball |
Mr Holmes |
45 - 30 JT Win |
The new coach guided the boys to victory. A great result, with some silky basketball skills shown from the squad. Wesley and Devontay linking up well terrorising the defence and Cameron’s 3 pointers helping the team claim the result. Well done JT. MVP: Devontay Zaglas |
10-12 Girls Basketball |
Miss Morley |
41 - 10 JT Win |
The John Therry girls had a fantastic start to the MISA season with a 41-10 win over Magdelene. Well done to all girls for their efforts and response to feedback, but a particular mention to our MVP, Sarah White, for her experience and initiative in guiding the ball down the court. The girls are looking forward to the rounds ahead- there was definitely a good vibe on the bus return home! MVP: Sarah White |
7-9 Boys Volleyball |
Mr Williamson |
2 - 0 JT Win |
Very good first up performance. Totally dominated the game. Good teamwork and decision making. Fine serving from Trae Smith. MVP: Cody Meisenhofen |
7-9 Girls Volleyball |
Mrs Pellegrino |
2-1 JT Win |
A victory win for the JT girls volleyball. First game of the season comes with its challenges as this was the first time the girls have played together as a team. All players demonstrated exceptional team work, communication and team spirit. After losing the first set by 3 points, the girls were even more determined to win, with a 13point lead in the second set. The JT girls put the pressure on in the third and final set, winning the game. MVP: Jorja Borg |
10-12 Girls Oztag |
Mr Winter |
3 - 0 JT Win |
The girls took some time to find their feet within the first half coming into round 1 but led the way with the first try from Kiara Bolz. A short but wild burst of rain created difficulties for Magdalene but did not affect the girls from JTCC. This made way for 2 more tries in the second half coming from Shanae Leech-Morrison with a spin and dive and another effortless try from Kiara Bolz. The final score being 3-0, JTCC for the win. MVP: Kiara Bolz |
10-12 Boys Oztag |
Mr McGrath |
7 - 0 JT Win |
An extraordinary start to the year for the open boys with a 7 nil win against Magdalene. The weather conditions weren’t ideal, with the rain putting a stop to the game at the beginning of the second half. The boys backed up well after the DIO carnival and didn’t miss a beat. Positive signs for the season ahead! MVP: Zac Morheb |
7-9 Girls Indoor Cricket |
Mr Geribo |
53 - 103 MAG Win |
It was a tough introduction to indoor cricket for most of the girls as we faced a solid Magdalene team. After losing the toss and getting sent into bat, we managed to scrape our way to a total of 53 after consistently losing wickets throughout our innings. Our John Therry girls both bowled and fielded well, taking a couple of good catches, but Magdalene were too strong on the day. Well done on your first game and we look forward to next week. MVP: Bridget Shearer |
7-9 Boys Softball |
Mr Chapman |
3- 9 MAG Win |
The 7-9 boys softball team had their first match of the year against Magdalene. In a weather affected game that made pitching difficult, JT was unable to restrict the free flowing scoring of the Magdalene batters, which ultimately cost the game. We showed great teamwork and enthusiasm throughout the match. MVP: Austin Matahau |
7-9 Girls Hockey |
Mrs. Davidson |
0 -6 MAG Win |
The girls were up against a very experienced team for Round 1. They put up a strong effort and gave it 100%. They worked as a team and supported each other throughout the entire duration of the match. MVP: Georgia Hohberg |
