PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
INTERIM REPORTS
I would like to thank those parents who attended the P/T/S interviews on the last day of Term 1 and collected the Interim Report for their child and met the teachers. I was so pleased to meet so many of you at the doors. These reports, whilst not comprehensive, give an indication to the progress of the student and provide information about their application and learning gains.
The interview allows for coordination between the school and the family in moving to get the best learning outcomes for the student. Sometimes as families we have competing events that make our attendance at these interviews difficult. But the effort is worth it, if it stops bigger issues developing with learning later down the track.
As a teacher, I am constantly amazed at how so many students rise to meet high expectations, particularly if those people that are significant to them (parents and teachers) demonstrate a belief that they can be achieved. We need to set high and reasonable expectations and support the students in meeting them. We will have more success if we can do this together and the P/T/S interviews are an important part of this.
