YEAR 7 CAMP CAPTAINS VISIT
This year our House and Sports Captain attended the Year 7 camp on Wednesday night. Our captain's, Sophia, Katherine, Hollie, Anthony, Riley, Cameron, Madison, Saidy and Olivia all dined with the boys after spending some free time playing games with our newest cohort. The captains then led a liturgy based around our house values and prayers with the students responding and engaging beautifully with the experience.
The captains took their respective groups to separate areas and practised their house chants for a “chant off” in the hall. All students participated fantastically well with a very difficult decision for our judges. While waiting for the points decision the students engaged in an impromptu “dance off” with some stars shining brightly with talent. The points tally at the end of the night was Murray, Conolly and Ryan on 200 points and Chisolm with 150 points.
Some words from our captains from the experience:
Enjoyed having dinner with some of the boys and getting to know them, good to see them showing some JT Pride. Riley
Had an amazing dinner with the boys, being served by them start to finish. Cameron
Was great to meet the new faces of the year 7s and create a bond with them early in their John Therry journey, creating a passion for house spirit and JT Pride from the beginning. - Hollie
The new group of year 7’s made a positive impact and impression, joining them at dinner was delightful as well as their enthusiasm in house spirit and house cheers. They’re a very likeable and mature bunch. Sophia
Thanks to our Year 12 House and Sport leaders for giving up their time and talents for this very worthwhile evening.
