YEAR 7 CAMP

unnamed_2_.jpg

On Wednesday 19th of February, Year 7 travelled to Teen Ranch in Cobbitty. We spent two nights and three days at camp. The day activities consisted of bush skills, horse riding, archery, the giant swing and games in the pool. Evening activities provided students with a sense of belonging for their house groups in preparation for the swimming carnival the following week. A huge thank you to Mr McGrath, Mr Geribo, Mrs Roet, Mr Muscatello, Mrs Schnebli, Mr Bodeker, Mr Pearce, Miss Killen and Mr Howe for giving up their time to support their learning groups at camp.

Veronica Woods (Year 7 Pastoral Coordinator)

The following students have shared some highlights of their time away:

For me the highlight was horse riding, this is because I had never been on a horse before. On Wednesday night the Year 12 house captains came to the camp for dinner and to teach us about our house. The Ryan house were victorious in the house chants which was really good. Camp was a great way to try new things and make new friends.

Ashton Ible (7Ryan1)

The best part of Year 7 camp was making new friends and getting to know our Learning Group. My highlight was the giant swing. It was thrilling and helped push us out of our comfort zone. We worked as a team. Cabin groupings also helped us to meet new people and it was nice to spend time with new friends. I really enjoyed Year 7 camp.

Riley Ayers (7Ryan2)

Year 7 camp was a really fun and memorable experience. The instructors at the camp were really helpful and it was a great way to make new friends. I found that one of the best things was being able to connect with staff and students and just be yourself. My favourite activity was the rock wall because it was challenging but it is also fun to help others. The chicken schnitzel was also really good!

Taylor-Rose Ross-Evans (7Murray2)

My camp highlight was orienteering! It was really fun to complete an independent activity. We had fun exploring the bush working in competition against the other members of our learning group.

Ayush Gyawali (7 Conolly1)

The giant swing was a highlight for me. It was a good way to push ourselves out of our comfort zone while working as a team. I also really enjoyed swimming. We played group games but also had time for free swim. This was a relaxing way to get to know more our about our Learning Group.
