SPORTS ASSEMBLY
On the 10th of December John Therry Catholic High School held the Annual Sport Assembly. The assembly acknowledged those students who have represented the school in our winning MISA, Diocesan and Knock-Out teams along with those students who gained selection into a Diocesan team, a NSW CCC team or NSW All Schools team by individual selection or by placing 1st/2nd in a NSW pathway event.
I would like to thank the parents, grandparents and special guests who attended the assembly to help celebrate the success John Therry has had in the sporting arena. The passion and competitiveness that the staff and students have for sport can clearly be seen each week in our MISA and other school representative teams.
John Therry has completed the 2019 MISA season in sensational form. This year we have once again been very competitive throughout the year and have won 16 (+ 5 more this term) MISA competitions, improving from last years 11 victories. After winning the MISA Champion school trophy in 2017, and 2018, my goal this year was to go for “the trifecta”. I’m proud to say that results have been finalised and we have been again crowned MISA East Champions. Further to this we have also won the INTERZONE championship, beating another 16 school to the title, congratulations - an exceptional effort.
To everyone that has represented the school in sport this year, I thank you for your efforts, as we now celebrate your individual and team achievements.
Congratulations once again to CONOLLY House on your 2018/ 2019 achievements, but a reminder to all students that your participation in all MISA, Diocesan, CCC competitions and all school carnivals earn your House valuable points, which of course starts on Monday in the “Jack Crawford Games”.
A big thank you to Olivia Southby (Sport Captain - 2019/2020) who did a fantastic job hosting the 2019 Sport Assembly.
