SPORT REPORT TERM 4 - Week 7 (Replay Round 4)
The past two weeks have seen sweltering temperatures causing a number of sport cancellations. This week with temperatures again predicted to be high, we were instead hit with a 20 minute storm, receiving 3mm of rain as students boarded buses to their respective sports. The storm unfortunately meant that a number of games were unplayable and our students particularly our year 7's were stuck at school again. Unfortunately, the one thing we cannot control is the weather, and the safety of the students and staff is always paramount.
Of the five games we were able to play we were victorious in all. Final week of sport for the year next week, sports assembly to follow in week 9 (more details below).

After a slow start and extreme rain we came out in the second half firing. Some excellent attack with Annalise Hodson scoring some great goals and tough defence with Danielle Newby not letting anyone through. Well done on a fantastic season. MVP: Tara Rayawa |

A great game played in excellent spirit. Helped out an injured opponent and apologised when we ran into another. That being said, the boys brought their A-game and reached their highest score of the season. MVP: Aaron Stonebridge. |

A difficult game with the wind but a match we should have won more easily. Never really in danger. Gave away an early lead and poor execution in the second set led to them drawing level. Regained composure in the third. MVP: Lachlan Coombs |
Sports Assembly News
This week Natalie Van Coevorden (class of 2010), has agreed to attend the sport assembly as our guest speaker. We are very excited to welcome back Natalie as she has a very busy schedule preparing and training in preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games trials. Our sport captain Olivia Southby will be in charge of preparing and asking Natalie some questions as part of the assembly. A reminder that parents are welcome to attend. Of course the sport assembly is one of my favourite days on the school calendar.

Jack Crawford Games:
Jack Crawford games is a unique school carnival held in memory of the late Jack Crawford who was a founding and influential member of the John Therry community. Our school ovals and the carnival are both named after Jack Crawford.
John Therry will be hosting its annual “Jack Crawford Games” on the Monday 16th December, Week 10. The students will be involved in a number of activities that will promote teamwork, house spirit and flashes of individual brilliance. The Carnival is always a student favourite and involves a rotation of a number of different sports and activities. Student compete in house based matches in year groups to collect points to become the Jack Crawford winner. More details will follow shortly from your house captains.
To find out more information, click on the Carnival Tab on the JT Sport Page or speak to one of our Sport Captains.
