SPORT REPORT TERM 4
Round 4 Week 5 (Cancelled)
This week we experienced extreme heat and wind during sport. A number of sporting activities were cancelled and decisions are being made from the MISA coordinator regarding the scheduling of rounds moving forward into the MISA competition. Here is a recap on how we have been performing at MISA throughout the term.
We have started the term in strong fashion at MISA sport.
Winning:
- 6 out of 9 games vs MAGDALENE
- 7 out of 9 games vs MOUNT CARMEL
- 6 out of 9 games vs ST Benedicts (boys) + St Pats
Luckily for St Benedicts (girls) and Magdalene sport was called off this week. Thank you to all for your cooperation and calmness around the school on Tuesday.
Jack Crawford Games
Jack Crawford games is a unique school carnival held in memory of the late Jack Crawford who was a founding and influential member of the John Therry community. Our school ovals and the carnival are both named after Jack Crawford.
John Therry will be hosting its annual “Jack Crawford Games” on the Monday 16th December, Week 10. The students will be involved in a number of activities that will promote teamwork, house spirit and flashes of individual brilliance. The Carnival is always a student favourite and involves a rotation of a number of different sports and activities. Student compete in house based matches in year groups to collect points to become the Jack Crawford winner. More details will follow shortly from your house captains.
To find out more information, click on the Carnival Tab on the JT Sport Page or speak to one of our Sport Captains.
Annual Wollongong Sport Awards
Good luck to: Patrick Picot, Olivia Sloan and Nathan Doggett who will be receiving sporting awards at the Annual Sport Awards on Friday night in Wollongong. Olivia Southby will also be in attendance as she will be reading citations for the event. We are very proud of all our students sporting achievements, but we are particularly proud of these four students and look forward to more good news in 2020.

Reminders: Students leaving sporting venues:
A number of students have asked to leave recreation sport venues in recent weeks with a written permission note. A written permission note asking to walk from venue is not to be accepted. We have a legal obligation to supervise the you the students until 2:40, hence students will need to come back to school to be dismissed. If a parent signs their student out from the venue that is the only exception. Thank you for your support in this matter.
