DEBATING
Congratulations and well done to all Year 7 and 8 students that participated in round 1 of MISA debating against Magdalene on Wednesday May 8th. Both teams were a credit to the school and deserve high commendation on their excellent efforts in presenting an argument and working exceedingly well as a team.
The round provided two very interesting topics. The Year 7 topic was "That all public transport should be free" and the Year 8 topic was "That Anzac Day should be a national day of celebration." Our John Therry students displayed a real depth of knowledge and were able to back their arguments up with clear ideas and examples. We are proud to announce that our Year 8 debaters were victorious, what a great start to the season!
We also thank our ex-students Meaghan, Caitlin and Avin who were excellent adjudicators.
