YOUTH MINISTRY
ACYF FORMATION DAY
On Friday the 18th October, our Year 10 Youth Ministry Leaders went to Holy Spirit College for their first ACYF formation day. The day was all about embracing the spirit and being mindful of distractions, in preparation for the Australian Catholic Youth Festival in Perth.
Students were led by Joel and Seth from CYMW. Seth led the group of 83 Students through an analogy of the concert goer. Students were asked: Are you a fan of God? Or are you curious to know more? The key message was, wherever we are on our faith journey it is important for us to make the most of the experience. Just like a concert goer. The book of Revelations tells us that, God will knock on the door, but it is the individual who must let him in.
The group also completed a variety of small group activities, made new friends, played large problem solving games and participated im prayer, song and worship.
Our team: Anthony, Lauren, Jayde, Wayne, Tasmyn, Ethan, Celeste, Andrew and Tom all had a great day. They participated enthusiastically and are looking forward to the next ACYF experience.
