YEAR 11 PUBLIC SPEAKING
On Thursday 15th May, two of our brilliant Yr 11 students, Elijah Gill & Anabel Martin attended the MISA Public Speaking competition at St Francis Catholic College.
The competition included writing a prepared speech on a topic the students were passionate about. Elijah skillfully spoke about the importance of free speech in society, while Anabel passionately spoke about the importance of reading and storytelling. The second part asked students to deliver an impromptu speech on an unseen topic, and speak for 1-2 minutes. Both students were able to cleverly deliver speeches on "Being Australian is an Individual Experience".
21 students competed from all over the region competed, and Anabel Martin came away with 3rd place!!!
Both students spoke beautifully, with passion and they should be proud of themselves.
