PRINCIPALS REPORT
What are we on about at John Therry?
As a Catholic School in the Marist tradition, the fourviere pledge that Marcellin Champagnat made many years ago nicely summarises our approach to education at John Therry. There is a lovely connection with the Marist and Parish devotion to Mary, and I share a few excerpts from the Fourviere pledge below.
"We want to be people who bring love to life. We seek to heal, to educate, and to accompany people to discover fullness of life."
"Our Marian way is to go joyfully and generously, looking to form life-giving relationships with people, that stir the liberating spirit within them, so they too can become instruments of God's faithfullness, justice and mercy."
"We undertake this life and work so that God's dream for us, for our earth, and for all creation may be reailsed in time and place, and in the hearts of people."
All goals truly worth aspiring to as a Catholic School.
Parent Teacher Interviews
I thank all parents that will make the time to attend parent teacher interviews next Wednesday afternoon and evening. These are such an important opportunity to come together and work in partnership to support your children, and send the clear message that their education is important.
I also apologise that we have a number of staff on leave, sick or attending professional development that will be unable to be at the interviews. There is a significant Catholic School conference on at the same time that impacts these interviews, and alternate dates had other issues. I know that it can be frustrating when a number of teachers are unavailable. Teachers will always be happy to follow up and provide feedback on return if this is wanted. The teachers below are all unfortunately unavailable next week.

Playground improvements update
I have included a few photos below of the new playground and learning area that we have been developing over the last year. This was supported by P & F funds and Government funds and is coming together very nicely.
