YEAR 10 FAST FORWARD PROGRAM
Year 10 Students Explore University Life at Fast Forward Event
On Wednesday, June 5th, nine Year 10 students from John Therry Catholic High School participated in the Fast Forward Program alongside other local schools. The University Day, themed “Destinations Unlimited,” offered a travel-inspired experience, allowing students to explore the university campus and its diverse offerings.
Throughout the day, students engaged in various activities designed to provide insights into university life and study pathways. They toured university facilities and listened to current students share their personal experiences. Highlights included a learning session in a moot courtroom, simulating real courtroom proceedings, and a visit to the medical research building, where students delved into anatomy studies.
The program focused on helping students discuss their career aspirations and discover possible study pathways. It continued to build their skills and confidence, fostering problem-solving abilities and encouraging creativity through interactive workshops. These sessions allowed students to collaborate with peers from other schools and interact with program staff, university faculty, and current students.
The day was a resounding success, with students thoroughly enjoying the experience. They eagerly anticipate continuing with the Fast Forward Program in 2025.
