YEAR 7 DEBATING
Year 7 students: N Chand, M Gillespie-Dutchman, H Kaur, T Lara, A Sharma, S Tchernomor and H Willis, attended St Francis Catholic College on Wednesday the 15th of May to engage in a dynamic MISA Debating Workshop.
Through interactive sessions, our students honed their abilities in the matter, manner and method of debating: structuring PEEL paragraph arguments, speaking clearly and confidently, and following the rules of debating. The workshop culminated in a challenging debate against another school, where students applied their newfound skills in a competitive yet supportive environment.
Witnessing Year 8 students debate, followed by constructive feedback, provided invaluable insights into advanced debating techniques and strategies. This experience not only enhanced their public speaking proficiency but also fostered teamwork and public speaking skills.
Our students were great representatives for our College community and had a lot of fun on the day.
