YEAR 10 - FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL
This year students studying Food Technology in Year 10 had the opportunity to share their food preparation skills with the John Therry Catholic College community. Students worked in groups to facilitate a Multi - Cultural Food Truck festival. The students involved in this day demonstrated a high level of expertise in food preparation and presentation and worked seamlessly as part of a team. The dishes on offer were-Nachos, Loaded Brownies, Chicken Parmigiana, Pizza, Rice Paper Rolls, Churros, Snack Pack, Loaded Fries and Stir Fried Noodles.
The College had students from Ms Kasteleins Commerce class help with promotion, sales and set up of the day which involved them creating advertising materials, taking payments and helping with the configuration of the food trucks. Mr Macdonald had students studying music singing and playing live music during the event which created an inclusive atmosphere for the college community.
This day couldn’t have ran so well without the support of the additional staff members Mr Jefferys, Mr Joy, Mr Murray and Mrs Sund.
We look forward to running this event annually with students across courses.
