PRINCIPALS REPORT
College Captains 2024
It is with great pleasure that we announce our College Captains for 2024. Our 15 Captains come from a much larger group of outstanding students who nominated to fill these important positions. We thank all students with the courage to put their hand up and take on the responsiblities of leadership. We also emphasise that each student in Year 12 is a leader of our College, modelling the behaviour and culture that we set here at John Therry.
Congratulations to our 2024 Captains.

It has been a busy week at John Therry with many important events taking place. Year 10 were involved in showcasing their History projects on Monday evening, while confirming their subjects for Year 11 2024. The projects were quite amazing and it was wonderful to see the students so engaged in their work and the quality of the artefacts.
The Year 12 HSC showcase on Thursday night was a real highlight and the talent of our students never ceases to amaze me. The quality of art work, drama and musical performances were some of the best I have seen and should translate to some wonderful HSC results for our students. Major projects require significant dedication and commitment by both students and teachers and I thank all teachers who have walked alongside students through this process. I extend this thanks to parents who have no doubt worn many of the stresses of completing these projects.
P & F Meeting - 12th September 6:30pm
The John Therry P & F has made significant donations to the College recently including $25000 towards a new outdoor senior area and providing KLA's $5000 to purchase equipment and resources to engage with their learning. This has included state of the art equipment to set up a green room for recording video and photography, new sport uniforms and a wide range of specialist equipment.
At our meetings we discuss options for uniform, upcoming events, and seek feedback from parents on how we can best meet the needs of the students at John Therry.
If you would like to be involved in discussions on how we use these funds, feel free to join us on the 12th September at 6:30pm in the staff common room.
HAPPY FATHERS DAY
I wish all of our fathers and father figures a happy fathers day on Sunday. We also remember those no longer with us and give thanks for gifts and blessings of fatherhood.
