YEAR 11 SLR EXCURSION
The Year 11 SLR 1 Unit students embarked on an exciting outdoor excursion, encompassing various physical activities that included an 8km kayak along the Port Hacking River, a 10km bike ride through Lady Carrington Drive, and a 6km walk through the Royal National Park.
Students have recently been studying “Outdoor Recreation” as part of their Preliminary Course and as part of this course, they have learnt about the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle and recognise the need to be responsible and informed decision makers.
The objective of this excursion was to further develop their understanding of and competence in a range of recreational pursuits. The day tested the students cardiovascular endurance and allowed the students to test themselves mentally and physically. It was a challenging day where the students were able to overcome self doubt and enhance their physical and mental wellbeing.
All students are to be commended for their positive attitude and their ability to overcome the challenges throughout the day. Well done!
