PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Staff Development Day - 24th April

John Therry staff were involved in processes to support our College strategic planning at our recent staff development day. We are undertaking a system led Cyclic Inquiry process this year that will help us set priorities for the next 4 years. Staff spent significant time reflecting on the National School Improvement Tool, evaluating how we are currently operating, and opportunities for growth and improvement.

Parent voice is particularly important in this cyclic inquiry and the Tell Them From Me survey will be used to ensure we identify what parents value, and areas they want the school to focus on to improve the educational experience for our students. If you can take the few minutes to complete this survey it will be greatly appreciated.

HOLIDAY WORKS

We continue to work to improve the learning environment for our community, with our next phase looking at our learning spaces. Master planning taking place this year will set priorities for a significant refubishment program over the next few years.

Carpeting - new carpet has been laid in a number of classrooms across the College.

New demountables - C6 & C7 demountables have been demolished and new demountables installed near the rear car park. The space left behind from C6 & C7 will be converted into a senior area with some covered seating and garden improvements. A BBQ and external kitchenette will also be a feature of this space.

Painting - has taken place in a range of classrooms and spaces across the school. We will continue this work to ensure all classroom spaces are welcoming and inviting for staff and student learning.

VAPE detectors - have been installed in 2 sets of toilets in the College. This was supported by the P&F who purchased the Vape detectors and they were installed over the holidays. These detectors sound an alarm, and send a notification to designated staff to investigate. We have large signs indicating these are present in the toilets.

APPIN MASSACRE MEMORIAL

John Therry staff and students were again involved in the running of the Appin Massacre memorial, which remembers the 14 Aboriginal men, women and children that were killed on April 16 1816. Particular thanks to Cherrylle and Brian Nau, who worked closely with Sr Kerry in making the day possible.

ANZAC DAY MARCH

Thank you to the John Therry staff and students who participated in the Campbelltown ANZAC Day March on Tuesday 25th April. We always have a strong turnout and are very visible as a school community showing our respects at this event.
