A fantastic season from all the boys enabled us to compete in the grand final against Mt Carmel as minor premiers. We got off to the perfect start, scoring 4 quick runs from efficient batting and smart stealing. An outstanding fielding performance enabled us restrict Mt Carmel to 0 runs throughout the 3 innings, an impressive shutout. This performance was a complete team effort from start to finish which culminated in John Therry winning MISA East. Well done boys!

St Pats won the toss and sent us into bat, after two quick wickets we recovered well. The batters followed the game plan, finding the side net, consistently, however constant wickets kept out total to 45. St Pats came out of the gates firing, however some controlled bowling kept us in the game until St Pats final pair ran away with the win.

An excellent game despite the scoreline. The boys played with commitment and eagerness. Several players stepped up or returned from injury today. Unlucky not to have the whole squad for the whole season.

A full squad this week ensured a great game. The girls led the whole match. Goals scored by Jorja, Sophia (2) and Olivia (2). Great defending by Georgia, Tahlia, Celeste and Shontay. Great result and a great season.

A great game that was highlighted with patches of individual brilliance. A slow start due to a lack of focus. However a few great efforts and control was soon ours. A wonderful result!

One of the very best Grand Final MISA basketball performances ever. The team simply refused to lose, made phenomenal plays coming back from 10 points down to win against the odds in the final minute. With his brother injured waiting for an ambulance, Devontay Zaglas with ice running through his veins made both free throws giving us the lead in the final seconds. The boys dedicated the win to Travis.

The final game of the series and what a showdown it was. The JT girls had a fantastic start, leading by 12 points in the first 10 minutes. However, the girls became complacent and were only up by 3 points going into the second half. With a new determination and team spirit the girls worked extremely hard to win 30-23. It has been a fantastic season of coaching the 7-9 girls team, many of whom showed a willingness to learn new skills, be part of a team and try their best each and every game. Congratulations girls on a great season - 3rd place overall.

Mount Carmel was the better team today, their fast attacking plays kept our defenders very busy and they didn’t miss a shot at goal. I was impressed to see the improvements the John Therry team had made in defense and midfield. Great sportsmanship shown by all.

In a do or die match to stay in the running for first past the post, the boys started off slow. With only two tries in the first half. Senior player Corey Brabender took charge and led the team to a convincing victory.

FINALS round- Five teams were in contention of taking out top spot and earning a place in the ‘Interzone Finals’. Congratulations to all teams on making the finals, an excellent effort. Out of the five teams, we were victorious in three of the four finals and remain in contention to take out the rugby league final next week with a top of the table clash against Mount Carmel.

Thank you to all players and coaches for the season. Looking forward to the ‘Interzone Finals’ next week as we also begin preparations for MISA trials in week 10 of this term. Students will be emailed a google form if they wish to trial for MISA Term 3. Please note any players trialing for rugby league will need a mouthguard and will also be required to complete a contact permission note (available from Mr Tran).

CCC CROSS COUNTRY: Well done to Bridget Shearer (Year 7), Paul Salmond (Year 7) and Olivia Southby (Year 11), who competed at the CCC Cross Country on Friday the 15th at Eastern Creek. A fantastic achievement to represent the Diocese. Some good results against strong competition.

Bill Turner Soccer: The team won 7-0 verse Liverpool Boys High in what coach Mr Holmes termed a formidable display. Round 4 clash is verse Freeman College at Lynwood stadium on the 28th of June. If the teams win this they will play Westfields Sports School in the Zone Final.

Currently Conolly house hold a strong lead in the sporting house championship, can anybody catch them? House meeting information is below. Reminder, any students requiring transport to and from ‘Campbelltown Athletics Stadium’ are to see Mrs Healey at Student Services to book your spot on the school bus.

If you did not bring back your swimming/ athletics note you are required to do so. Spare notes can be collected and handed in at the Sports Office, reminder there is now a permission note mailbox if the office is unattended.

CARNIVAL INFORMATION

IF STUDENTS ATTEND THE CARNIVAL WITHOUT A NOTE, HOUSES WILL BE PENALISED POINTS AND STUDENTS WILL BE RETURNED TO SCHOOL FOR PARENT PICKUP.
TRANSPORT – HAVE YOU ORGANISED YOUR TRANSPORT TO THE ATHLETICS COMPLEX?
PICTON BUS WILL DROP STUDENTS OFF AND PICK STUDENTS UP FROM THE VENUE

IF YOU CATCH APPIN, CAMDEN BUSES OR IF YOU WALK TO SCHOOL EVERY DAY YOU NEED TO SIGN ON AT STUDENT SERVICES WITH MRS HEALEY TO RESERVE YOUR SEAT ON THE BUS. BUS TO DEPART JOHN THERRY BY 8:15 AT THE LATEST.
PLEASE BE AT THE ATHLETICS COMPLEX BY 8:30AM. ROLLS FOR ATTENDANCE WILL BE TAKEN AT THE PEMBROKE RD ENTRANCE AND AT THE FOOTBRIDGE FROM CARPARK.
STUDENTS ARE TO MOVE TO HOUSE AREAS IN THE GRANDSTAND AFTER NAME IS MARKED OFF.
COMPETITORS ONLY 200M EVENTS WILL START AT 8:30AM. STUDENTS ARE TO NOMINATE FOR THIS EVENT WITH MR GOODHEW AT THE SPORTS OFFICE BEFORE MONDAY OR VIA GOOGLE FORM. NO EXCEPTIONS.

CAR PARKING ARRANGEMENTS

As per the parking arrangement in previous years there will be no car parking within the stadium grounds. Once the small car park off Pembroke Road is full, parking can be found off Airds Road and the athletics centre can be accessed by the pedestrian footbridge providing a safe entry and egress into the facility and a lot more parking!
