HSC SHOWCASE: ‘ONSTAGE’ EXCURSION
On Monday, 6th of February, the Year 12 Drama Class visited OnSTAGE. OnSTAGE showcases the amazing individual and group projects performed and created by the 2022 graduating cohort. It was presented at the Seymour Centre in Sydney, and included a range of designs (costume, set, lighting, promotion and programs), theatre reviews, director's folios, performances, videos, and script projects. Each piece of work evidently showed the effort and time students had put into their projects throughout the year, through their detail and precision.
The class responded very well to the experience:
Hayley D'Cunha reflected that "Visiting OnStage has set the standard of quality we as a Year 12 Drama Class strive to aim for. It has shown us exemplary and amazing projects that highlight the dedication that has to be put into each one. Costume designs were intricate, performances were engaging, set designs were precise; each project highlighting the elements of drama and telling a story in their own wonderful and elaborate way. Visiting OnSTAGE has helped us understand how to prepare for our own major works coming up this year."
Furthermore, Madison Turner said, "My favourite part about Onstage was being able to see all of the design major works and getting a feeling for what can be expected in my own majors. The performances were very helpful for developing my ideas for when we devise our own group performances and we all loved seeing John Therry being represented twice in the foyer display."
A big thank you to Mrs Cascarino and Miss Abela for taking us on this excursion, and allowing us to be exposed to these wonderful projects!
