PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

The Gospel reading from Sunday 5th February is a powerful one in how we are called to live. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house" - Matthew  5:14-15.

We are each called to live our lives as an example to others, embracing compassion and love for others. A life of service, particularly for those in need is at the heart of our Catholic calling, and is counter cultural to the messages portayed in the media about a consumeristic and individualistic society,  where we compete with others to own the most 'stuff'.

Our Marist theme this year 'Created and Called' draws on this message of living our life as God has called us to, and living with Love and tenderness for others. The theme speaks to the incredible importance of each individual, and how we each have a calling to do something with our one wild and precious life. We look forward to exploring this theme in 2023, and ensuring students know just how much they have to offer the world, particularly through their good relationships with others.

I invite you to watch the short video below that shares the theme for 2023, that is across all Marist Schools in Australia.

OPEN DAY

We look forward to our Open Day on the 25th February for prospective Year 7 students in 2024. The morning commences at 11am with a session in the College Hall, followed by school tours, BBQ and festivities. A key part of the day is having our students assist as tour guides and faculty displays and information has been sent out for students to volunteer on this day.
